onePAC™ Packaging System
With this system, each resident who follows a drug regimen has a medication strip prepared and verified by one of our pharmacists for their current medication cycle. Each onePAC package is printed with information that ensure the accuracy of each dose. Infusion Therapy
Our affiliate Infusion Pharmacy in Clive prepares sterile compounds for intravenous use. Unlike many pharmacies, we offer IV medications, pumps and supplies. This type of treatment is often used for pain management, hydration, parenteral nutrition or those needing antibiotics through an IV. This gives the facility the ability to continue to care for the residents during this treatment, which avoids transporting him or her to the hospital.
Specialty Compounding
Midwest Compounding is our affiliate compounding pharmacy located in Clive. They compound medications into special dosage forms if needed, such as skin gels or suppositories for residents who may have difficulty swallowing medication. There is no extra cost to the residents for these services beyond our normal prescription prices.
Emergency Kit
Medicap LTC supplies an emergency kit for our customers that are allowed to have them by law. Our staff makes emergency deliveries however; these kits are available for urgent needs. Once a kit is opened, during our next delivery we will trade out the entire emergency kit with a fresh fully stocked kit.
Delivery
Our staff will deliver medications to you daily Monday-Saturday. If an order is needed between delivery times, we can arrange for an emergency delivery.
24/7 Services
Healthcare emergencies don't stick to a 9 to 5 schedule. At Medicap LTC, we offer 24/7 services for our patients so they can receive the care they need.
Consulting Services
The Medicap LTC team provides expert advice on medication use, healthy aging, cost saving strategies, and more. We will ensure your prescription orders are clear and will apply best practices, including removing unnecessary drugs. Some of our consulting services include psychotropic medication reduction and antibiotic stewardship.
Medication Regimen Reviews
We will work with you to ensure everyone has an understanding of how, when, and why to take each medication prescribed. Our team will also check for drug interactions, work to decrease side effects, and find more cost effective alternatives when necessary.
Clinics
We offer a variety of on-site clinics for services such as immunizations, in-service education for residents and staff, and diabetic footwear.
We can provide residents and staff with any needed flu, COVID-19, RSV, or pneumococcal vaccines.
Billing Assistance
Should a question regarding your bill arise, our team of experts are here to help. With our experience, we increase satisfaction, decrease costs, bill insurance plans directly, coordinate with prescribers to ensure residents' medications are covered, obtain pre-authorizations, and initiate refills.
Insurance Optimization
We want to make sure you have all your questions answered. Our staff are available directly to answer any questions you may have regarding insurance and coverage.
Care Coordination
We strive to do whatever possible to make pharmacy easier for patients, caregivers, and facilities. Medicap LTC integrates with electronic medication administration records to increase efficiency, safety, and reliability.
